Rooted in the richness of Indian storytelling and driven by a global cinematic imagination, VAARTAKAAR FILMS is a creative home for stories that deserve to be seen, felt, and remembered.
We believe the most powerful films begin with a point of view.
Stories that challenge conventions, reveal the extraordinary within the ordinary, and connect audiences across languages, cultures, and generations.
From original ideas and literary adaptations to films for the big screen, we aim to bring distinctive voices and compelling stories to life.
The people behind Vaartakaar
Producer
Vasuu Dholakia produced Jindagi Once More, the VAARTAKAAR FILMS production that Dharma Productions chose for its first Gujarati film. He has described the partnership as a milestone for Gujarati cinema and a sign of its growing commercial reach, and he backed a team of first-time filmmakers to work alongside an actor of Siddharth Randeria's experience.
Screenwriter & actor
Deep Dholakia wrote the screenplay for Jindagi Once More and made his on-screen acting debut in the film as Shekhar, the son who sets out to discover the father he never really knew. Writing the story and then living inside it gave the film its personal, close-to-home voice.
Vasuu and Deep Dholakia are both directors of VAARTAKAAR FILMS PRIVATE LIMITED.
Eight kinds of stories we are drawn to, across genres, languages and borders.
These describe our creative range and interests. They are not a list of completed productions.
VAARTAKAAR develops original stories into feature films, series and other screen experiences. We look for four things.
